Welcome to LifeTether. These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you and LifeTether LLC ("we", "us", or "our") concerning your access to and use of the LifeTether application and website.

By registering an account and using the Services, you accept these terms and conditions in full. If you do not agree with all of these terms, you are expressly prohibited from using the Services.

1. Not Medical Advice (Disclaimer)

LifeTether is a self-help utility and organizational tool. It is NOT a healthcare provider, and it does not provide medical, psychiatric, or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Any concepts, tools, AI-generated insights, or information shared within the application are for educational and structural purposes only. You should always consult with a qualified healthcare professional regarding any mental health concerns. In the event of an emergency, utilize the SOS Toolkit to contact emergency services or a crisis lifeline immediately.

2. User Registration and Security

You are required to register to use the Services. You agree to keep your password and/or biometric passkeys confidential and are responsible for all use of your account. You represent and warrant that all registration information you submit will be true, accurate, current, and complete.

3. User Data & Zero-Knowledge Vault

You are solely responsible for all data, journal entries, and content you transmit to the Services. If you choose to enable the End-to-End (E2E) Zero-Knowledge Vault, you acknowledge that LifeTether LLC does not store or have access to your encryption key (the 12-word recovery phrase). If you lose this phrase, your data is permanently irretrievable. We shall have no liability to you for any loss or corruption of data resulting from a lost Vault key.

4. Prohibited Activities

You may not access or use the Services for any purpose other than that for which we make them available. You agree not to:

• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Services.
• Engage in unauthorized framing of or linking to the Services.
• Attempt to impersonate another user or use the account of another user.
• Upload or transmit viruses, Trojan horses, or any material that interferes with the uninterrupted use of the Services.
• Decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software comprising the Services.

5. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, LifeTether LLC owns all intellectual property rights in the Services, including all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, and graphics. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use.

6. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN AS-IS AND AS-AVAILABLE BASIS. In no event will we or our directors, employees, or agents be liable to you or any third party for any direct, indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. We reserve the right to change, modify, or remove the contents of the Services at any time or for any reason at our sole discretion without notice, particularly during beta testing phases.

7. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois for the resolution of any disputes.
